Two wheels make more sense than four if you want to beat city traffic. That's the inspiration behind the Hyde – our simple, rugged urban all-rounder inspired by our line of 29er mountain bikes. Fast-rolling Schwalbe tyres are well suited to street use, while powerful Shimano hydraulic disc brakes offer huge reserves of stopping power, whatever the weather. The rigid fork helps keep weight down and the steering reassuringly precise. And slick Shimano 1x9 gears are easy to use and give you the range you need to get around town easily.

Taking its inspiration from the cycle couriers of the '80s and '90s, who adopted mountain bikes as their preferred mode of travel around town, the Hyde brings the urban bicycle bang up to date. With its classic Trapeze configuration, it's an easy bike to live with from day to day. Double-butted aluminium tubes make a structure that's strong, durable, light and lively. Neatly integrated luggage carrier and mudguard mounting points make it easy to customise, and there's room for two water bottles for longer rides at the weekend. And the sleek rigid fork is the perfect accompaniment, offering crisp, precise steering to match its low weight and understated looks.
