Fun, safe and versatile: that's our CUBE Kid 200 Street. Based around our durable CUBE Kid 200 mountain bike frame, we've added smooth-rolling tyres and a host of add-on accessories to create a bike that's perfect for adventurous youngsters. Because it's a bike designed to be ridden on the road, our first priority was to make it as safe as possible. We started with an LED lighting system - driven from a hub dynamo, so you never have any worries about batteries running out - that's permanently 'on' and built to withstand any weather conditions, so young riders will always be visible to other traffic. Then we added a power modulator to the front brake, so over-enthusiastic use doesn't result in an over-the-bars dismount, or worse. The brakes themselves are powerful v-brakes with levers designed to be a perfect fit for small hands, while the 7 speed Shimano gears and smooth-shifting and reliable. Transporting belongings is easy thanks to the permanently fixed cargo rack, and full length mudguards help keep clothes dry and young riders warm and comfortable even when the road is wet. The CUBE Kid 200 Street doesn't even need a wall, tree or fence to stay upright, thanks to its built-in stand. We reckon we thought of everything. All that's missing is a young, keen rider...
