There aren't many bikes that manage to be both a high-performance riding machine and a desirable design object in their own right, but with the Elite Hybrid SL our design team has pulled off this rare feat. Wish-list components are just part of the story. Bosch's fourth-generation CX drive unit and Kiox controller, driven by the extra-high-capacity power unit enabled by our new CUBE Modular Battery System, meshes seamlessly and quietly with Shimano's superb XT transmission to deliver power to the Newmen rear wheel with Shimano XT hub and 2.35in Schwalbe Nobby Nic via a wide-ranging 10-51T cassette. Up front, a Fox 34 Float SC Performance fork has 120mm of easily adjustable and incredibly plush bump-swallowing travel, whilst powerful Shimano XT hydraulic disc brakes ensure you're always in full control. So far, so good. But what makes the Elite Hybrid C:62 SL really stand out is the chassis onto which all this finely engineered bicycle goodness is bolted. Because, starting from scratch and with a drive to build the best possible carbon e-MTB frame, CUBE's engineers created a masterpiece. From the neatly integrated battery to the semi-integrated seat clamp and stiffness-enhancing Boost rear end, the extent of their attention to detail is disguised by clean lines that are so neat, you may even forget you're riding an e-bike. Revised Agile Ride Geometry, dropper post compatibility and looks to die for are all part of the package. Great looks, superb riding and incredible functionality, all rolled into one. Truly, a work of art... even if we do say so ourselves.

Progress never stops. We understand that, and so do our partners at Bosch. When they developed their smooth, powerful fourth-generation drive system, we knew we needed an Elite C:62 Hybrid frame capable of doing it justice. The great thing about our Advanced Twin Mold manufacturing technique - and our years of working with carbon - is that it enables us to build a frame to our precise requirements, whatever those might be. And so we started from scratch, developing an all-new Modular Battery System to enable the Bosch power unit to be housed entirely inside the down tube, under its own easy-access cover. There are three benefits to this approach. First, it looks great - a result we reinforced by routing all cables internally for a sleeker appearance and lower maintenance. Second, it allows room for a bottle cage mount. And third, there's enough space inside the new down tube for a higher capacity battery, resulting in even greater range than before. The 1.5in head tube with semi-integrated headset and Boost rear axle work together to transfer the Bosch drive unit's power efficiently to the rear wheel. And Agile Ride Geometry, adjusted to work perfectly with a 120mm fork, means that the Elite C:62 Hybrid is exactly the right blend of lively and stable, almost as though it can read your mind. There's even scope for an easy stealth dropper post upgrade, and we included a kickstand mount because, well, because you never know. Did we think of everything?
