Frame: There's a very good reason that we poured all of our experience developing mountain bike frames into the Cross Hybrid SL Allroad: it's the best way to ensure that it has the strength, stiffness and stability to make the best of Bosch's astonishing power unit. Features like the complex hydroformed down tube, double butted Aluminium Superlite tubes and tapered head tube build into a chassis that's built to take on almost literally anything. New for 2017, the gravity cast motor mount integrates drive unit and battery seamlessly into the frame structure, providing even better efficiency, clean looks and the ability to charge the battery without removing it. It's practical, too - our 3D forged dropouts made it easy for us to include our kickstand and a pair of SKS mudguards, and fitting a luggage carrier would be an easy upgrade. And, of course, keeping the battery low in the frame also lowers the centre of gravity, which helps give the Cross Hybrid SL Allroad the intuitive, lively but safe handling you'd expect from CUBE.
