KID 240
Race
Brand new for 2018, we took things up a notch or two for our Kid 240 Race. Figuring that keen young riders will benefit from having the right equipment for them to develop their skills, we took all the best features of our Kid 240 range and added components that are designed for the real rough-and-tumble of off-road life. So we fitted a Suntour air suspension fork, which is easily adjustable for a young rider's weight. Then we added Shimano's new Deore 1x10 gears, for a wide gear range and simple gear shifting performance. And we finished off with wide, grippy 2.35 inch tyres, which work with the fork to smooth out the trail and stick like glue to the trail. Add our proven 6061 aluminium frame, and you've got everything you need for your little rippers to shred to their hearts' content.

Junior riders quite rightly want their bikes to be as good as the grown-ups'. That's why we selected the same heat-treated 6061 aluminium tubes that we use in our adult bikes, for the best combination of low weight and great strength. Mechanical tube forming allows us to tweak tube shapes to the optimum profile, and of course the derailleur hanger is easily replaceable in the event that it gets damaged. In terms of geometry, we built the Kid 240 Race around a low top tube for improved manouvrability and confidence, using a geometry that's just the right blend of stable and nimble for young riders to develop their confidence and skills. Plenty of tyre clearance means that wide, grippy tyres can be used to add to comfort, control and, most importantly, fun.
